Stem Cell Therapy: New Books
Here is the list of new books on Stem Cell Therapy. Stem Cell Therapy has an enormous future potential to prevent human aging and to increase dramatically the healthy human lifespan.
The books are listed in reversed chronological order (the most recent books are listed first). To get more information about these books, just click on the titles below:
Stem Cell and Gene-Based Therapy: Frontiers in Regenerative Medicine
by Alexander Battler and Jonathan Leor (June 6, 2007)
Book Description:
The inability of the human body to be able significantly to self repair injured organs and tissues results in a considerable medical and social problem. During the last few years there has been incredible progress, and the achievements in experimental strategies for tissue regeneration, particularly in cell transplantation and stem cell research, have led to potential treatment options for many otherwise fatal conditions. These innovations hold promise for treating or preventing end-stage organ failure; cell therapy and tissue engineering of viable grafts with the potential to grow and remodel could provide prospective new solutions to the serious problems of organ donor shortage.
Regenerative medicine – stem cell and gene-based therapy – offers a new approach for restoring function of damaged organs and tissues. Several books have been published on particular aspects of organ and/or tissue replacement but none cover the major new aspects and field of regenerative medicine. This title is therefore a timely addition to the literature. It brings together the major approaches to regenerative medicine in one text, which ensures that techniques learnt in one discipline are disseminated across other areas of medicine, allowing practitioners to gain knowledge not only of how regenerative medicine applies to their discipline directly but also how it could benefit their patients in the years to come.
How Adult Stem Cell Therapies Saved My Life: Medicine's Best-Kept Secret Can Save Your Life, Too
by Bernard Van Zyl (Paperback - April 9, 2007)
Product Description:
Laced with hope and promise, How Adult Stem Cell Therapies Saved My Life: Medicine's Best-Kept Secret Can Save Your Life, Too is the story of one man's quest to survive congestive heart failure and tout the nearly miraculous results of adult stem cell treatments. Seven years ago, van Zyl suffered cardiac arrest; his heart literally stopped until doctors shocked his chest. Over the next ten months, after receiving bypass surgery, an angioplasty, and entering a cardiac rehabilitation program, van Zyl's heart was still deteriorating. Turned down by two heart transplant centers, van Zyl's only hope lay in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or more specifically, a new FDA-approved clinical trial for adult stem cell therapies. One of 24 patients selected with heart failure, van Zyl entered the aggressive treatment group in 2004, where adult stem cells were harvested from van Zyl's own body and injected directly into his failing heart. The results were astonishing. Now 73, van Zyl lives a healthy, vigorous life. How Adult Stem Cell Therapies Saved My Life offers a plethora of information on the latest adult stem cell treatments for over a dozen diseases and conditions. While much has been made of the medical viability and ethical concerns of other types of stem cell therapies, van Zyl is living proof that adult stem cell therapies can save lives.
Cardiovascular Regeneration and Stem Cell Therapy
by Piero Anversa, William Frishman, Mehrdad Abedi, and Takayuki Asahara (Hardcover - Mar 1, 2007) - Illustrated
Stem Cell Transplantation: Biology, Processes, Therapy
by Anthony Dick Ho, Ronald Hoffman, and Esmail D. Zanjani (Hardcover - Sep 29, 2006)
Book Description:
This is the first handbook on the whole field of stem cell research covering (1) molecular and cellular fundamentals, (2) clinical applications and (3) GMP processing. It provides a timely overview of the potential and plasticity of adult stem cells. With its focus on standardization and quality control of cell lines suited for processing and clinical trials, the book features novel therapeutic approaches that offer great promise for new ways of treating neural, hematological and cardiovascular diseases.
The editors are leading international experts in adult stem cell research, and their successful networking in the US and Europe has resulted in a distinguished team of authors from around the world.
Cell Therapy, Stem Cells and Brain Repair (Contemporary Neuroscience)
by Cyndy D. Davis and Paul R. Sanberg (Hardcover - Sep 1, 2006)
Book Description:
Cell Therapy, Stem Cells, and Brain Repair reviews the most compelling treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, disorders, and injuries, including Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, traumatic brain injury, and stroke. Covering the history of cell therapy and neural transplantation, it also focuses on stem cells, including embryonic, bone marrow, and umbilical cord blood, as well as other investigative sources. This compilation explicates previous cornerstones and milestones of neurological cellular therapy, which have provided a foundation for modern stem cell research.
In Cell Therapy, Stem Cells, and Brain Repair, the challenges and current direction of cellular research are described in great detail. Modern techniques involving certain subsets of cell populations are also explained. In addition, the ongoing discovery of stem cell sources for cell therapy is discussed, while expounding upon clinical applications for cellular therapeutic brain repair as certain cells become increasingly promising.
Explaining the field of cell therapy from a scientific, clinical, and ethical perspective, Cell Therapy, Stem Cell, and Brain Repair is essential reading for neurologists, scientists, and clinicians looking to stay on the cutting-edge of regenerative medicine.

There is no doubt that medical science has achieved a number of mile stones, especially at the time of emergency but at the same time it is also true that its medication has a number of side effects. So at that moment stem cell therapy can be considered as a perfect solution that to without any medication. Thank you.
